| | I'm astounded by some of the reviews people have left for City of God. I'm 45 minutes through it, and I simply can't finish it, especially knowing I have over an hour left. Everyone appears to praise the story; I say "what story?". I don't find myself caring what happens, or for any of the characters. Maybe the fact that all the characters are punk kids just instantly turns me off from these sorts of movies. The worst movie I've ever seen, Bully, involved lots of punk kids, trying to kill the punkiest kid of the bunch. The plot of City of God isn't much different, except all the punks are drug dealers. They kill for profit and territory, not because they're pussies.
And anyway...I love The Money Pit. |
